Suns continuing to complete trade, be active on market about Jae Crowder – Shams

Apparently, the Phoenix Suns are looking to cut their ties with Jae Crowder as soon as possible.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Suns are finding ways to complete a deal with Crowder still up for grabs as they try to acquire key units at the wing.

“The Suns have continued to try to get a deal done – they want to move him. This  is a team that clearly needs a trade, a jolt to their lineup. They basically have two starters down… The Suns are going to continue to be active on the marketplace to try to get a player that can help them to their frontcourt.”

With Cam Johnson still down, the Suns have been under pressure and urgency to complete their hunt for an additional frontcourt cog, with Crowder serving as their trade piece.

Notably, Charania reported last Monday that there was a discussed three-team trade, wherein the veteran will be shipped to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Suns will gain KJ Martin and Eric Gordon, with Houston Rockets piling up four second-round picks and some players on their end.

The likes of the Miami Heat and the Atlanta Hawks were also reported as strong candidates to land Crowder, who remains away from Phoenix’s team duties.

Currently, the Suns do possess a 16-12 record, good enough for fourth place in the Western Conference.
