This season the Mavericks are struggling with making free-throws. A recent example of that was the game against the Bucks in which they made just 41.7% free-throws and lost by a single point.

Dallas is currently making 72.3% of its free-throws. The only team that is worse in this category is the Grizzlies with 69.8%.

Even worse, superstar Luka Doncic, who averages 10.4 free-throws per game – by far the most on the Mavs – is making just 71.1% of them.

Team owner Mark Cuban is aware of the issue and has already spoken with the staff about addressing it.

Mark Cuban says he has raised the free throw topic several times with president and general manager Nico Harrison, vice president of basketball operations Michael Finley and Kidd. “I told them to figure it out,” he said. “They know it’s an issue. It’s not like we don’t see the box scores.

“It’s not something we ignore, that’s for damn sure. It’s not like, ‘Eh, it’ll all work out in the end.’ It’s something know we have to work on.”
