Looking back on the 2020 offseason, Jerami Grant has no regrets about parting ways with the Denver Nuggets.

The current Portland Trail Blazers big man said that his leaving gave him tons of opportunities and a sizable room to grow.

“I think I just grew as a player,” said Grant, per Mike Singer of the Denver Post. “I gave myself an opportunity to become who I am today. I think I’ve been this player, but there was a lot of work I needed to do. I think I gave myself room to grow.”

Despite a Conference Finals run and a solid success in the NBA bubble in his lone year with the Nuggets last 2019-2020, Grant opted to leave and went to sign a three-year, $60 million deal with the Detroit Pistons amid a similar contract that was offered by the franchise.

Grant is set to hit free agency again next year, as he is looking to further elevate his value upon averaging 22.5 points and 4.2 boards this season.
