Andre Drummond reacts to shrinking playing time on Bulls

Bulls’ newcomer Andre Drummond is seeing his playing time shrinking as of late. Over the last three game the former first round draft pick has averaged just 6.3 minutes per game.

The reason for that is that the head coach Billy Donovan decided to go small with his second unit. Despite getting little playing time, Drummond says he is prepared to take on any role that he is assigned.

Via Joe Cowley of Chicago Sun-Times:

“For me it’s just a position I have to accept for the time being,” Drummond said. “My job is to do whatever it takes to help this team win, whether it’s playing 15 or playing 30 minutes. I said this before, earlier in the year – anyone who knows basketball and has seen me play, knows what I’m capable of doing in 30-plus minutes, but that’s not what this team is asking of me right now. It’s to come out off the bench, be a spark anyway I can, and try and help them win games. That’s what I have to accept.”

This season the 29-year-old center is averaging 6.4 points and 7.4 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game for Chicago.
