The Celtics are having a strong first quarter of the season. Las year’s finalists are sitting atop the Eastern Conference with the best record in the NBA (21-5).

Most recently Boston crushed the top team in the West – Phoenix (125-98). Even though things are going well for the Celtics, Jayson Tatum says that the players are not satisfied.

“Everybody in the locker understands what we’re trying to do,” the 24-year-old small forward said. “We realize that got the best record with 21-5. With that comes a decision every night to play the right way, to play as hard as we can on both ends. I wouldn’t say we’re playing angry. We’re having a lot of fun.

“The goal is still the same – get back in the Finals and get over that hump. While we are having fun and are happy with the way we’re playing, nobody in that locker is celebrating or satisfied with where we’re at. None of this means anything if we don’t hang a banner. That’s the ultimate goal.”

This season Tatum is averaging 30.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 36.6 minutes per game.
