After missing four games in a row, Ben Simmons is set to make a return for the Brooklyn Nets on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks.
Since the past few days, various reports have suggested that Simmons is indeed targeting a comeback on Friday. He has been absent since Nov. 28 after taking a premature exit against the Orlando Magic due to left knee soreness, which turned out to be a calf strain after further evaluation made by the Nets.
Simmons also missed four-straight games earlier this season due to knee soreness and had to go through plasma treatment besides draining multiple times.
Before going down with the strain, Simmons enjoyed a robust stretch in which he is gaining significant momentum of his old self, averaging 14 markers, 11.7 boards, and 6.7 dimes in six games.
Though Simmons was inactive, the Nets went on to win three games en route to a current 14-12 standing in the Eastern Conference, a significant rise after a dramatic start this season.
