Cam Reddish drawing interest from Lakers, Heat, Bucks since landing in New York last season: report

Upon his landing in the New York Knicks last season, Cam Reddish has been absorbing plenty of trade interest from several teams already.

Sources told SNY’s Ian Begley that the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and the Milwaukee Bucks have tapped the Knicks and expressed their intent for a transaction revolving around the young wingman since January.

“Several teams have expressed interest in trading for Reddish since the Knicks acquired him in January 2022. The Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks are among the teams who reached out to New York in that span.”

Last Wednesday, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News relayed that both the Knicks brass and Reddish’s representatives have been working on a potential trade. But the former Duke star disputed the notion that he requested a trade.

“I haven’t requested any trades,” Reddish said, via Peter Botte of the New York Post. “I have not. Y’all seem to know more than me, for real. I don’t know what y’all talking about, but I haven’t requested no trade, nothing like that.”

Throughout his career, Reddish has struggled drastically on the offensive side, shooting a career total of 39.3 percent from the field. This season, he is averaging 8.4 points, 1.6 boards, and an assist while sitting down on the Knicks’ last two games after the removal of him the rotation of Tom Thibodeau.

Logically, the Heat is the best landing spot out of the three teams for Reddish given their lack of depth in the frontcourt and that gigantic hole at the four. As such, given their needs to add up a 3-and-D unit, the Lakers and the Bucks’ desires stand valid.
