Stephen A. Smith: “Anthony Davis is a legitimate, bonafide league MVP candidate right now”

Anthony Davis has stepped up his game since late November. Most recently, the Lakers superstar scored 44 and 55 points along with 10 and 17 rebounds as his team defeated the Bucks and the Wizards.

Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith thinks that with the way that Davis is playing right now, he is a legitimate MVP candidate.

“The way he is playing right now, not only has he been sensational, not only has he reminded people of his greatness, Anthony Davis is a legitimate, bonafide league MVP candidate right now,” he said on First Take.

“He plays like this – he’s an MVP candidate. Make no mistake about it. It’s been sensational. He’s putting on a show.”

This season Davis is averaging 28.6 points, 12.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 34.6 minutes per game.
