Jason Kidd on Luka Doncic’s 40-point triple-double: “It’s getting boring”

For the third time this season Luka Doncic produced a 40-point triple-double. His performance helped the Mavericks defeat the Warriors (116-113) in Dallas.

Mavs’ head coach Jason Kidd emphasised not just the points scored by the superstar, which usually get all the attention, but also his trust in his teammates.

“It’s getting boring,” Kidd said when asked how he would describe another 40-point triple-double from Doncic. “I mean, what else? Let’s see something different. Maybe do it with his left hand. I’m just joking.

“Look, he’s one of the best in the world and that’s what he does. Again, I said this earlier, some of us in this room can take him for granted. The man is special. The guy love competition.

“And when you have a triple-double like that, it’s not easy because he’s marked once pulls up in his car, they’re gonna have a double team or they’re not going to let him play.

“His growth of getting off the ball and trusting his teammates is at a very high level. I know the points everybody talks about that, but just playing four on three sometimes that can be frustrating, but he’s showing maturity and trust in his teammates that they’re going to make the right play.”
