Jaylen Brown: “We still haven’t played our best ball”

The Celtics (16-4) were without Jayson Tatum as they hosted the Wizards (10-10), but managed to take the win (130-121) behind 36 points from Jaylen Brown.

After the game the 26-year-old shooting guard emphasized the importance for his team play defense. According to him, the Celtics still haven’t played their best basketball.

“I think we’re in a good spot and I think we still haven’t played our best ball,” Brown said. “Defensively I think we can pick it up. I think we’ve been a little bit… we let our offense kind of dictate things and we can be better in spots and it starts with veterans guys, it starts with me, it starts with us. As the year goes, it’s something that we are going to emphasize for sure.

“But I like the spot that we’re in. Playing great basketball, we’re empowering our guys coming and be aggressive, feel comfortable in their roles, shooting the **** of the ball and playing the game the right. So, not too much to ask when you look like that. Looks like Celtic basketball to me.”

This season Brown is averaging 25.6 poinys, 6.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 35.5 minutes per game for Boston.
