Luka Doncic assures Mavs fans should ‘not be worried’ about his future in Dallas

Superstar Luka Doncic is making it known his commitment to the Mavs supporters by airing reassuring words in light of their initial anxiety that he could leave Dallas.

In an interview with WFAA’s Joe Trahan, Doncic noted that Mavericks fans have nothing to be worried about given the number of years he forged with the franchise.

“I don’t think they (should) worry about it right now,” Doncic said. “I got, what, five years left here? So, I don’t think they should be worried about it.”

Being touted now as one of the clear faces of the league, Doncic is an undisputed basketball darling and a walking highlight reel due to his generational talent and ability to control the game – making himself a league-wide magnet of attention.

Mavs fans might have to temper their doubts given the length of the team’s contract with Doncic. The Slovenian sensation is currently locked on a five-year, $215 million deal which takes him until the 2026-2027 season of being a Maverick.

Doncic also aired his intentions to bring a title of his own to the city of Dallas.

“Everybody wants to win the championship. I want to win the championship here, so it’s our goal,” he said.

Doncic is again on a godly season for his fifth year in the league, averaging 33.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 8.1 dimes, and 1.9 steals in 49.9 percent shooting. Under his brilliance, the Mavericks are currently rolling with a 9-7 start this season.
