Bogdan Bogdanovic on Suns’ trade radar – report

Sharpshooter Bogdan Bogdanovic is a potential trade target for the Phoenix Suns, per Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer. The Atlanta Hawks wing is reportedly on the team’s radar as he “checks a lot of boxes” as a shooter, ball-handler, and defender.

Bogdanovic hasn’t made yet his season debut as he continues his recovery from a knee injury last season. He underwent surgery in May to address his right patella tendon issues and was placed out for the early portion of the 2022-23 campaign.

Given this status, the idea of the Suns being interested in Bogdanovic stands enticing amid the risk and rustiness he might carry.

With the Hawks keeping their eye on Jae Crowder, the Suns might perhaps offer Bogdanovic to finally package the estranged veteran away to end their trade saga. But with the Serbian cager earning $18 million until next season, Phoenix might have to attach more assets for salary-matching purposes or try to orchestrate a three-team deal.

With Cam Johnson out for over a month, Bogdanovic can at least provide needed spacing for the Suns, who averaged 15.1 points in 43/36/84 shooting splits for the Hawks last year.
