Knicks looking to acquire first-round pick for Immanuel Quickley – rumors

The New York Knicks are looking to capitalize on Immanuel Quickley’s value for a fair price on their subjective part.

Sources told The Athletic’s Fred Katz that the Knicks are seeking a first-round pick offer for Quickley, who is currently in his third year in the league and an extension-eligible candidate next summer.

It was revealed last week by Shams Charania of The Athletic that the Knicks have shown a willingness to move Quickley this season in hopes to trim down their thick backcourt. Upon the landing of Jalen Brunson, Quickley has been gaining unimproved playing time under Tom Thibodeau so far this season.

Throughout 18 matches, Quickley has struggled for 22.8 minutes of play and only averaged a career-low 37.9 percent shooting for the Knicks, connecting to 9.1 points. He is also having a rough display from beyond the three-point line, draining 30.9 percent of his 3.8 three-point attempts average.

Given Quickley’s poor production so far, the asking price of the Knicks, for now, remains over the expectations of the majority. With the season still early, they can only hope that the Kentucky product will get over the hump to raise his value.
