Stein: Suns making progress on Jae Crowder trade scenario

The Phoenix Suns are reportedly moving forward about their current trade situation with Jae Crowder.

Per insider Marc Stein, there were some “credible rumbles” that the Suns have made progress on Crowder trade saga this week, and the veteran forward’s recent Instagram story may have suggested that.

Crowder posted a cryptic IG story of a time clock emoji on Wednesday which could tell that resolution is near to happen.

Crowder has been absent from the Suns’ team activities this season after him and the franchise have agreed to work for a trade – signalling a divorce after a two-year run.

Given the depletion of their frontcourt from the meniscus tear recovery of Cam Johnson for over a month, it has to be noted that urgency could be pushing the Suns to find a trade partner and potentially gain an added wing enforcemrnt. Thankfully enough, their case with Crowder can help, but his expiring deal could be a huge swing on their intents to just settle on a mid-level type of cager.

Crowder, 32, has been coveted by several contending teams that appear seeking for a 3-and-D production. The likes of the Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat have been rumored as rival suitors.
