Denver Nuggets superstar big man Nikola Jokic has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

His sliding within the protocols ultimately makes him unavailable for the Nuggets’ Wednesday match against the New York Knicks, marking the first time that the two-time league MVP will miss his first game of the 2022-23 season.

In 13 games to play for the Nuggets, the Serbian sensation is averaging 20.8 points, 9.5 boards, a career-high 8.9 assists, and 60.6 percent shooting from the field.

With him out for an indefinite team, DeAndre Jordan and Zeke Nnaji are expected to make a step up to fill his absence for Denver.
