Memphis Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson will make his season debut on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told NBA on TNT’s Chris Haynes.

Jackson underwent a successful surgery in June to repair a stress fracture in his right foot. He was initially listed unavailable to play in the early portion of the team’s 2022-23 season.

But with him set to be back, the Grizzlies can’t ask for a much better opportunity to continue rising, as they are able to firmly take a hold of their contending status with a 9-5 record to start the season amid the big man’s absence.

Last solid season for Memphis, Jackson averaged 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and recorded a league-leading 2.3 blocks in 78 games. A young and terrifying rim protector who still has a sizeable room to develop, he established himself as a defensive beast upon claiming an All-NBA Defensive First Team honors.
