Dennis Schroder, Thomas Bryant expected to play for Lakers in Friday vs Pistons

Both Dennis Schroder and Thomas Bryant are expected to suit up for the Los Angeles Lakers this Friday against the Detroit Pistons, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. The two are yet to play their season debut for the Lakeshow this 2022-23 season.

As presented by Provape, multiple reports have confirmed that Schroder and Bryant were re-evaluated last week from their respective thumb surgeries. They’ll be checked again on Thursday to determine if they are truly good to go to play for L.A.

Schroder, 29, is slated to perform in his second gig for the Lakers. He was signed by the franchise in a veteran’s minimum deal late in the offseason after a breakout display for Germany in the 2022 EuroBasket. He averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.5 boards in his first stint for Los Angeles back in the 2020-21 season.

The same goes for the big man in Bryant, who made a return to the team after a stop in 2017-18. Coming off an ACL injury, he averaged 7.4 points and 4.0 boards in 52 percent shooting last season for the Washington Wizards.

The Lakers buried their five-game losing skid on Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets. With Schroder and Thomas soon to be back and produce needed contributions, the club can only be optimistic to emerge after a slow 3-10 start.
