The search of a new ‘tower’ (as it was expressed by Zalgiris president Arvydas Sabonis) is over. The new signing is 22-year-old 208cm Croatian. Damir Markota started this season in Spartak St.Petersburg. He averaged 11 points per game in Russian league. One of the most promising Croatian talents was drafted 59th in 2006 by San Antonio Spurs. Markota will join his compatriot Marko Popovic in Kaunas and he will be 5th Croatian player in Zalgiris history.
