Steve Kerr on James Wiseman: “It’s gonna take a lot of reps and time”

When the Warriors drafted James Wiseman in 2020 as the number two overall pick, the expectations were high for the 21-year-old center.

However, the player suffered a major setback during his rookie year as he torn his ACL, which not only ended the season early for Wiseman, but also kept him out of action for another year.

This season he is back in action, though his numbers are not that impressive. Despite that, Golden State’s head coach Steve Kerr is optimistic about Wiseman’s future.

“It’s gonna take a lot of reps and time,” he said, per Madeline Kenney. “But I see a really talented young guy who’s eager to learn, who is committed to the team, who has overcome an awful lot to get to this point, dealing with his injury for over a year.”

This season Wiseman is averaging 7.3 points and 4 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game for the Warriors.
