LeBron James took to Twitter to express his concern in response to a report The Washington Post which claims that the use of the ‘N-word’ increased by nearly 500% since Elon Musk purchased the platform.

It appears that the report blew the things out of proportion since, as explained by the Twitter’s Head of Safety & Integrity Yoel Roth, slurs and other derogatory terms came from 300 inauthentic accounts. Moreover, he explained that the platform’s policies have not been changed.

Sports journalist Jason Whitlock provided another take on LeBron’s tweet in which James called the reported increase of the use of the ‘N-word’ “scary AF.”

Whitlock pointed at the fact the Lakers star has no problem hearing the ‘N-word’ in rap music and even uses it himself on his own TV programme The Shop, yet sounds the alarm on it being used on Twitter.

“LeBron only wants to hear the N-word in rap music. It’s a term of endearment in rap. When LeBron dropped the N-word on HBO’s The Shop it was a good thing. But now it’s scary AF. Gotcha,” Whitlock tweeted.
