Josh Primo finally breaks his silence following his controversial departure that was executed by the San Antonio Spurs this Friday.

In his statement issued via ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Primo cited his intent to recover from his mental health concerns.

San Antonio took an unexpected move, waiving the second-year guard after suiting up for their four regular season games to start this 2022-23 calendar year. He was widely believed by several rival executives as a young, bright gem in their rebuild project following the Dejounte Murray trade.

The franchise remains mum with regards to their release of the Canadian guard, as head coach Gregg Popovich even declined to give a word to the media.

Primo was chosen by San Antonio for the 12th overall pick of the 2021 draft, the youngest prospect of his batch. He averaged 5.8 points, 2.3 boards, and 1.6 assists in 50 games played in his rookie year.
