Hornets exercise team options on LaMelo Ball and two more players

The Hornets announced that they have exercised their fourth-year team option on LaMelo Ball and their third-year team options on guard James Bouknight and forward/center Kai Jones.

Ball is yet to play this season after suffering an ankle injury in a preseason game. Last season he averaged 20.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 7.6 assists in 32.3 minutes per game for Chrlotte.

Bouknight, a first round pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, is averaging 5.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 15.5 minutes per game this season.

Jones, a fellow first round pick from 2021, is averaging 1.5 points in 3 minutes per game. The 21-year-old power forward played a similar role during his rookie season last year as he averaged 1 point, 0.5 rebounds and 0.2 assists in 3 minutes per game.
