A multi-billion-dollar franchise, teams in the NBA are supported in no small part by their loyal fans. Thousands of dollars are spent every match day and season, and unfortunately, this experience is set to cost NBA fans even more in the next few years.
But just how much might this all amount to? Well, the team at Betway have analyzed and compared the predicted price increase of tickets, food and drink, parking, and jerseys, using the findings to rank NBA teams from most to least expensive to support by 2025.
Here’s how much it could cost to support your favorite NBA team by 2025
Based on Betway’s analysis, last year’s champions, the Golden State Warriors, could be the most expensive team for fans by 2025. The Warriors are set to have some of the costliest single tickets ($155.13), beer ($27.04), hot dogs ($10.32), and parking ($58.22) prices by the mid-point of the decade. This will cost the average fan almost $388.63 each game, and well over $22,000 for the season!
Coming in second are the New York Knicks. Their game day experience may cost future fans roughly $379.40, with the most expensive tickets in the NBA ($191.84) bringing no relief to Knicks fans, who have to pay the most expensive ticket prices right now.
After the Knicks come the LA Lakers, whose game day experience is $50 more than their neighbors, the LA Clippers ($266.01). This makes for a difference of $3,800 by the time the season ends!
And the price increases don’t stop there. The Boston Celtics came in fourth, with fans looking to fork out almost $300 per game; that’s more than both the Milwaukee Bucks ($283.52) and Chicago Bulls ($276.37).
But not every NBA fans needs to worry about a costly match day price. Those supporting the Memphis Grizzlies can look forward to a game day forecast of $190.16 by 2025. That’s four times cheaper than Warrior’s fans.
