Sunday evening was well spent for Chris Paul. Besides guiding the Phoenix Suns to a dominating 112-95 road victory against the L.A. Clippers, he then entered a historic club.

“I honestly didn’t have a clue until I checked out of the game,” Paul said about his recent feat.

After dishing out 11 assists, Paul joined fellow floor general legends John Stockton and Jason Kidd as the third player in NBA history to register 11,000 assists in their career. Other than that, he is the first one in record books to achieve 20,000 points and 11,000 assists tallied.

In post-game, Paul was grateful to achieve the milestone with the help of several star players he shared the court with from past to present of his illustrious career.

“I’ve been fortunate to play with a lot of great shooters, great players in general,” Paul said. “Starting off with David West. I got a chance to play with Tyson Chandler (and) Peja Stojakovic. Came here (in Clippers) and played with Blake Griffin, DJ (DeAndre Jordan) and J.J. Reddick … I played with James (Harden), and now playing with (Devin) Book and all these guys. I’m privileged.”

At age 37 and still built to fight father time, Paul still has some plenty of chances to perhaps get closer on both Kidd (12,091) and Stockton’s (15,806) assists marks.
