Brandon Ingram left earlier on the New Orleans Pelicans’ 122-121 narrow overtime loss to the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
Ingram took an exit and was evaluated for concussion-like symptoms after colliding his head with teammate Naji Marshall for a steal attempt late in the first quarter.
Ingram still willed his way to return at the 6:33 mark of the second period, but was called out a few seconds later to get back to the bench. He was announced ineligible to return heading to the second half.
Co-star Zion Williamson also sustained an injury during the fourth quarter after a hard fall from a blocked dunk attempt. He eventually joined Ingram to the dugout for the remainder of the match.
The absences of both their core pieces hurted the Pels’ chances to grab the home win. Ingram had 10 points in 11 minutes before leaving, while Williamson had 25 points and six rebounds in 30 minutes of play.
