Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue made it known that Kawhi Leonard will indeed come off the bench in their Thursday season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes reported.

Haynes already provided earlier that the Clips are operating on the said idea for Leonard, who is set to play his first official NBA game after missing the entirety of the 2021-22 season after nursing his ACL surgery.

Per Lue, the superstar forward didn’t experience any setback, and the upcoming plan to bench Leonard stems from collective agreement of the team (h/t ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly).

Lue also confirmed that Reggie Jackson will start at the point man role, with John Wall settling to lead the team’s second unit.
