The October 17 deadline for signing contract extensions has passed. It is now clear that some players will become restricted free agents next summer after not singing extensions before the deadline.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, three players that were eligible to sign rookie extension deals, namely Grant Williams (Celtics), Cam Johnson (Suns) and P.J. Washington (Hornets) are all headed to restricted free agency next summer.

Last season Williams, who was the 22nd overall draft pick in 2019, averaged 7.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1 assist in 24.4 minutes per game.

Johnson, the 11th pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, averaged 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 26.2 minutes per game last season for Phoenix.

Washington, Charlotte’s 12th pick in 2019, averaged 10.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 27.2 minutes per game last year.
