DeMar DeRozan no worries of a probable decline of his game: ‘There are so many ways to take care of yourself’

DeMar DeRozan isn’t worried about the possibility of his game beginning to decline.

The 33-year-old DeRozan told Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times that the rising advances of technology and self-care will cover any doubts about a probable decline.

“As long as you take care of yourself, as long as you work, technology is completely different,” DeRozan said. “It’s not like I’m Kevin Willis [who retired at 44] out here or anything like that. Shout-out to Kevin Willis.

DeRozan appears confident of his play maintaining its high note, considering that he had a year of resurgence with the Chicago Bulls last 2021-22. The All-star swingman pulled up 27.9 points on .504/.350/.877 shooting splits along with 5.2 boards and 4.9 assists while playing in a total of 76 games and logging 36.1 minutes average.

He also helped the Bulls to enter the playoffs for the first time since 2017, and he is eyeing to do it again and lead his ball club to a much deeper run this upcoming season.

“I’m just saying, there are so many ways to take care of yourself — physically, mentally, nutrition, the technology that you have for recovery. There are so many ways that you can be effective longer periods of time.”
