The Suns were stunned by the Adelaide 36ers (134-124) of the National Basketball League (Australia) in a preseason opener.
Phoenix had all of their starters play in this game but it wasn’t enough. The visitors were red hot from the three-point zone, making 55.8% of their three-pointers.
It was the first time since 2015 and just the fifth time in the last decade that an NBA team lost to an international team.
Cameron Payne was the top scorer for the Suns with 23 points, followed by Mikal Bridges and Deandre Ayton with 22 each. Meanwhile, for the 36ers Craig Randall II scored 35 points and Robert Franks added 32.
