GM Calvin Booth signs multi-year extension with Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are extending general manager Calvin Booth.

Per Denver Post’s Mike Singer, the collaboration between the two will run through at least the 2024-25 season.

“Calvin has been a huge part of what we’ve done here over the last five seasons and I have the utmost confidence in him as our general manager,” Josh Kroenke, vice-chairman of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, said in a statement.

“Cal has seen the game from every angle and has an extremely bright basketball mind. I look forward to continuing alongside Calvin and the rest of the organization with the goal of bringing an NBA championship to the city of Denver.”

Booth started his tenure in the Nuggets in 2017 wherein he was hired by ex-team president Tim Connelly. In 2020, he was then promoted to become a general manager.

Upon the departure of Connelly to take the Minnesota Timberwolves’ basketball operations helm, Booth assumed greater responsibility of handling the franchise. He made some splashes this season, as the Nuggets acquired Ism Smith, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Bruce Brown, and Deandre Jordan.

From 1999 to 2009, Booth previously played 10 seasons as a former cager in the NBA.
