Sophomore guard Joshua Primo sustained an MCL Sprain in his left knee prior to the San Antonio Spurs’ third day of training camp.

Per Spurs, he will miss the team’s preseason opener. But he is expected to be ready and available at the start of the official 22-23 campaign.

The departure of star point man Dejounte Murray, gave the 19-year-old Primo a huge opportunity to blossom in his position. He is heading on his second year with the Spurs after averaging 5.8 points, 2.3 boards, 1.6 dimes in 19.3 minutes of play in his rookie season.

San Antonio will open the upcoming season with a bout against the visiting Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 19.
