An anonymous NBA executive believes that Draymond Green won’t be “shy about leaving” the Golden State Warriors if he’s offered a much bigger paycheck by several teams next summer.

The executive further told Sean Deveney of Heavy that Green could find it interesting to take his talents to the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons and the Los Angeles Lakers.

“Look, it would suck for them if Draymond left, it would suck to call up Steph and have to tell him, but Draymond has made it clear he is about player power. If he gets a big offer from Detroit as one example or maybe Dallas or the Lakers, somewhere he would like to play? He is not going to be shy about leaving. He understands this business.”

Apparently, Green made it known that besides his teammate Steph Curry, he likes Luka Doncic’s game and upbringing to the Dallas Mavericks. For the Lakers, he is now a close friend and business partner of fellow Klutch Sports client LeBron James. And lastly, the big man traces his roots to the state of Michigan, wherein he grew up idolizing Pistons great and defensive stalwart Ben Wallace.

“He has always thought about playing for Detroit, helping his hometown of Flint at the same time. He would love to play with a superstar like Luka where he has to just play off him,” the executive said. “And he is Klutch. you know he loves being on the barbershop show with LeBron. He wants to have an entertainment career when he is done playing. You don’t need to be in L.A. for that, but it helps.”

Other than defending their title this upcoming season, the free agency scenario of Green stands challenging on the side of the Warriors. Besides the All-star big man, the Dubs are in the deep water of how they will also retain both Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole in the long-term picture.

In Golden State’ media day recently, Green claimed that he doesn’t believe that the Warriors will offer him an extension prior to the 2022-23 campaign, which created more buzz if the veteran will continue to be a Warrior after this year.

Green has been the undisputed heart and soul of the Warriors. As such, the franchise indeed has a tough decision to land moving forward if they will desire to extend him or not.
