It remains uncertain on how the Golden State Warriors will answer a gigantic question with regards to how they will keep their phenomenal core unbroken. But for main man Stephen Curry, he is crossing his fingers that his team would eventually figure things out.
As this daunting concern is nearing, Curry is keeping his optimism that they’ll remain cemented for years to come.
“We want the best chance to win every single year,” Curry said, via Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “We’ve proven with this squad what the results have been. We want to keep it together as long as we can.”
As they have the highest pay roll amongst the 30 teams around the league, with the combined salary and luxury tax payments of approximately $346 million in total last season, the Warriors are truly in the deep water on a financial standpoint, as Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole are slated for a contract year.
Following this upcoming season, Green still has a player option. Wiggins, on his part, has an expiring contract and will be paid $33.6 million as he enters an unrestricted free-agent next summer. Poole, on his part, is still waiting if he’ll be handed a rookie scale extension before next season starts.
Whatever lies ahead, Golden State will be focused on their priorities to be with their foundational pieces, as they are looking to sustain their golden streak as the reiging champions.
