Ime Udoka eventually had an affair.
As relayed by Shams Charania of The Athletic, Udoka had an improper intimate and consensual relationship with a female staff of the team – a violation of the team’s rules and code of conduct.
It was earlier revealed by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that Udoka is being subjected to a potential disciplinary action and suspension for an unspecified violation of the franchise guidelines.
As such, Woj clarified that it appears that Udoka’s job is not at risk, and a final decision will likely be announced this Thursday.
Udoka is coming off a splendid 2021-2022 season as a neophyte head coach of the Celtics. He led the franchise to a phenomenal rise from mediocrity and guided them to an NBA Finals finish last postseason.
A known defensive-minded genius, Udoka is a well-regarded assistant from his previous stints in Brooklyn, Philadelphia and San Antonio.
Udoka has been engaged with American actress Nia Long since 2015. They have one children.
