France star Evan Fournier admitted before the 2022 EuroBasket he didn’t expect Spain to be in the championship game.
“Going to EuroBasket, I didn’t think they were going to make it that far. For sure not. But you can never write down Spain. They have a way to play. They have a program that has been successful for years and years. It’s their first year rebuilding – sort of – and we weren’t expecting them at that level,” Fournier said, via Eurohoops.
“It just shows how well they play. How good they are at understanding the game of basketball. It’s a testament to what they do.”
