Rumors: Carmelo Anthony to Celtics ‘starting to gain some traction’

There is now a reported progress for the free-agency side of Carmelo Anthony, who is eyeing to play the 19th season in his NBA career.

Per Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, links between Anthony and the Boston Celtics are “starting to gain traction,” which may hint that the future hall of famer may finally be signed on a contract offer.

After the release of further examination which concludes that Danilo Gallinari sustained an even devastating left knee ACL tear that puts his playing status indefinitely, the club will certainly look for an ideal replacement. As such, the 38-year-old Anthony fits into that vision of a spark plug scorer off the bench.

Rumors from the previous days are tagging Boston to Anthony. Things are yet to unfold if these chirpings will materialize to reality.

Anthony is coming off a 2021-22 campaign with the Los Angeles Lakers, wherein he didn’t show signs of slowing down in an offensive standpoint as a reserve, averaging 13.3 points, 4.2 boards in 44.1 percent shooting for 26 minutes of play.

A potential signing will give him a solid opportunity to claim that elusive NBA championship ring, given that the Cs have maintained themselves as title heavyweights.
