The acquisition of Donovan Mitchell makes team veteran Cedi Osman confident for the Cleveland Cavaliers heading to the 2022-2023 season.

As what he told Edvinas Jablonskis of BasketNews, Osman noted that the whole franchise is “excited” on what lies ahead, and the arrival of Mitchell “definitely” makes them a contender in the Eastern Conference.

“Obviously, it’s a great addition to the team,” Osman shared. “I believe that everybody [in the organization] is excited.”

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Cavaliers traded Lauri Markkanen, Ochair Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three unprotected first-round picks, and two pick swaps to Utah Jazz for Donovan Mitchell.

This transaction boosted the club’s title contention for the following years to come. Composed by promising core pieces of Mitchell, Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, the club is truly ready to enter a new age of Cavs basketball following the fabled times of LeBron James.

Osman is currently leading Turkey in the 2022 EuroBasket, as his national team now holds a 2-0 elimination card.
