Cleveland Cavaliers withdraw from Donovan Mitchell trade talks

The Cavs have reportedly pulled out of trade discussions for Donovan Mitchell.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have chosen to withdraw from trade negotiations with the Utah Jazz for guard Donovan Mitchell.

With the Kevin Durant saga now over, Mitchell remains the biggest potential trade piece on the market and a number of teams are understood to be interested. Reports indicate the player would prefer a trade to the Knicks, Miami Heat, or Brooklyn Nets should he end up moving.

According to Knicks reporter Ian Begley, the Cavs have opted to remove themselves. Begley adds that none of the other interested parties can offer anything close to what New York has on the table.

Mitchell was drafted as the 13th overall pick by the Jazz in 2017. He has three All-Star selections to his name and was the winner of the Slam Dunk Contest in 2018.
