Despite their respective turmoil with the Brooklyn Nets, both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were spotted having some fun and back in the lab this summer.
With Victor Oladipo, Caris LeVert, Michael Porter Jr. and Trae Young, the two were putting up a show on a collaborative workout.
As reported by ESPN’S Brian Windhorst, besides piling up offers from other teams, the Nets are having hopes on the other side that Durant will reconsider his decision to leave via trade. They are eager to run things back with the future hall of famer and finally clinch that NBA title this upcoming season.
Meanwhile, as the Los Angeles Lakers have activated their coveted 2027 and 2029 draft picks in hopes to acquire Irving, Brooklyn didn’t show any interest to acquire them, as they are much interested in “win-now players” who will be ready for contention (h/t insider Marc Stein). As such, Irving remains locked in to play with the Nets for next season.
These reports and sightings may signal something interesting for Durant, Irving and the Nets. Time can only tell what is written on the next page of this lopsided saga.
