Rockets standout Jalen Green focused on building winning mentality moving through his career

As the core foundation of the Houston Rockets long-term rebuild, Jalen Green sets a high regard in the growth of his own winninh mentality despite a lowly 2021-2022 season.

And entering his second season in the NBA, he also remains dedicated towards improving every facet of his explosive game.

“My mindset is just to go in and be the very best version of myself on and off the court,” said Green, via Carlo Anolin of Manila Bulletin.

“Like I said, try to build that winning mentality. We’re on rebuild right now, trying to get everyone on the same page, trying to go into the right direction. So I think just tryna keep that mindset.”

Commencing the first full season of their major reconstruction as a franchise in this era, the Rockets spiraled downwards in the NBA’s power ladder, recording a league-worst 20-62. Though it may seem unusual on the side of the H-town fans because of what James Harden has given to them in last decade, the ongoing hardship stands as a silver lining — which gives them an optimism that the future will offer a new NBA championship since 1995.

Aside from Green, the club features a good rich of promising cagers in Kevin Porter Jr., Alperen Sengun, Josh Christopher and their recent lottery pick in Jabari Smith Jr. In hindsight, these amount of talent can truly prepare the Rockets for take-off in the next few years.

“We’re very young, we’re in a rebuild right now. Trying to get everyone on the same page and grow in the right direction. I think it’s just trying to keep the same mindset of trying to win.”
