Earlier this summer Jayson Tatum had his first experience of playing in the NBA Finals. At the age of 24 he was the leader of the Celtics team that returned to the Finals for the first time in 12 years.
Reflecting back on the experience, the small forward says he learned that he is one of the best players in the world, yet there is still much more that he can improve and be even better.
During the six Finals games Tatum averaged 21.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 7 assists in 40.7 minutes per game. During the regular season he averaged 26.9 points, 8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in 35.9 minutes per game.

“(I learned) that I’m 24 and one of the best players in the world and that I will compete against whoever and take on that challenge,” Tatum said. “In that same breath, I feel like there’s so much I could be better at, and I think that’s the exciting part. That I’m at where I’m at, where there’s so much more I can be, so much more I can learn and so many more experiences to go through.”
