Ex-professional players Rashard Lewis and Keith Bogans are in talks and finalizing an assistant coaching deal to join Dwane Casey in the Detroit Pistons, sources told Frank Isola of ESPN.

Lewis, a former two-time All-star and back-to-back title winner with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, had an assistant coaching stint for the Pistons in the recent Summer League outing.

Meanwhile, Bogans previously served as an assistant coach for the New York Knicks in the 2019-2020 season. He also had a two-year stint in the same role in its G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks.

Both Lewis and Bogans shared a court as teammates in the Orlando Magic from 2007 to 2009.

Being composed of Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey, Jaden Ivey, and a bunch of veteran players in the likes of Alec Burks and Kelly Olynyk, Detroit is a must-watch promising team to potentially rise in the 2022-2023 season.

Detroit finished with a 23-59 record last season, ranked 14th in the league’s Eastern Conference.
