The Kevin Durant trade stalemate has most of the NBA at a standstill as it pertains to teams acquiring players. But there could be a shift, either way, this week as the two-time champion is set for direct talks with Brooklyn nets owner Joe Tsai, according to Steve Bulpett of Heavy Sports.

“What I’m hearing is that KD is going to meet with the owner this week,” Bulpett wrote, quoting a league exec. “He’s going to go directly to the owner, Joe Tsai, sometime this week. We’ll see how that works.”

The desired outcome of the meeting is unknown. KD could remain adamant over his desire to be traded or could be keen on or persuaded to attempt to mend the relationship between himself and the Nets organization. Brooklyn reportedly wants to hold on to their All-Star.

“I have no idea what’s going to come of that meeting,” the source added. “There are some things that KD is unhappy about, and I’m not sure any of that gets fixed here. But maybe it does.”
