Nets still hope Kevin Durant retracts his trade request

Kevin Durant rocked the NBA by requesting a trade from the Nets more than a month ago. Since there has not been a day without some rumors about the trade talks surrounding the two-time NBA champion.

Despite significant interest from other teams, no deal has been reach yet as the asking price set by Brooklyn is reportedly very high and teams either don’t have the assets required by the Nets or are unwilling to give them.

As time progresses, the possibility of Durant remaining with the Nets until the beginning of the 2022-2023 season or even into the season appears to be more and more realistic.

Some speculate that the reason why Brooklyn set such a steep price for the 33-year-old superstar is because they want to create a situation where no trade is made and the player is forced to remain with the team with the hopes that he will change his mind about the future.

Another report from ESPN’s Zach Lowe, indicates just that. According to him, the Nets are not losing hope that Durant will retract his trade request.

This past season he averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 37.2 minutes per game for Brooklyn.
