The Utah Jazz are reportedly not interested in one of the New York Knicks’ coveted players.

Per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, Utah possesses no intent to acquire the former Duke star – in light of the ongoing murmurs on a potential swap with the Knicks with Donovan Mitchell being at the core.

“I’ve heard pretty consistently the Jazz don’t really have much interest in trading for RJ Barrett and paying for him.” (h/t HoopsHype).

A report from the previous weeks suggest that the Jazz are heavily leaning towards squeezing the value of Mitchell, aiming to gain a bountiful trade asset from the Knicks – a whopping seven first-round picks in exchange for the All-star guard.

Upon getting a loaded threshold from Rudy Gobert, who is now in Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah is literally keen on their asking price to even gain more assets from Mitchell.

Barrett, only at 22 years of age and had 20.0 PPG average last season, didn’t shockingly strike any interest from the West franchise. He became eligible for a rookie extension on July 1, which may give him a projected $185 million for five years.

As such, it remains noteworthy that the Jazz are heading towards getting back from scratch again and setting themselves up in the future.
