Dejounte Murray thankful for the growth, All-star rise he had in Spurs uniform: ‘I loved my time in San Antonio’

Dejounte Murray, San Antonio Spurs

Dejounte Murray is thankful for the time and development he gained as a member of the San Antonio Spurs.

Murray sounded off on his sentiments of reaching the All-star status last season with the club (h/t HoopsHype’s Mike Scotto).

“It really was a credit to my hard work and being a great person. Most importantly, it was my work ethic to work through everything and not let anything stop me, whether it was on or off the court, and stay focused. I loved my time in San Antonio, and I think that will always be remembered. I made my first All-Star Game in San Antonio. Now, I’m looking forward to being in Atlanta and being a part of a whole new culture and new city. I can’t wait to get out there and play with my teammates.”

Following the dramatic Kawhi Leonard in the 2018 offseason, Murray assumed the Spurs’ position as their long-term project.

As such, in his first All-star year, he pulled off an average of 21.1 points, 9.2 assists, 8.3 boards in 46 percent shooting.

Now joining the contending and talented Hawks team with Trae Young as his one-two punch partner, Murray has the chance to do more special and further gain a winning experience.
