Recently it was revealed that Russell Westbrook terminated his partnership with his long-time agent Thad Foucher due to ‘irreconcilable differences’ in their views about the player’s future.

Foucher was of the opinion that the best option for the former NBA MVP is to stay with the Lakers and accept a new starting role. It appears that that’s not what Westbrook has in his mind.

According to sports analyst Shannon Sharpe, both the Lakers and Russ want to go separate ways. However, Westbrook does not have many options to choose from.

“It doesn’t appear that Russ wants to be with the Lakers any more than the Lakers want Russ to be with them,” Sharpe said on UNDISPUTED. “He’s running out of options…There aren’t teams out there that think Russ is a difference-maker.”

This past season, which was his first in Los Angeles, Westbrook averaged 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game.
