Once it became known that the Jazz are trading Rudy Gobert – one of their core players – to the Timberwolves, other NBA teams tried to use the moment to make a trade for Donovan Mitchell.

According to Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune, more than a handful of team called Utah to check the availability of the 25-year-old shooting guard, but all of those inquiries were shut down by the Jazz.

One of them was from the Heat. It came even before the Gobert trade was finalized. However, Miami’s offer was not good enough for Utah to part ways with their star.

The Jazz are thought to view Mitchell as untouchable. Though some people in the league believe that he will become available later.

This past season Mitchell averaged 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 33.8 minutes per game.
