According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, James Harden is taking a $15 million paycut next season with “sole focus” on a title run with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Harden opted out of his $47 million player option, giving Philadelphia roster flexibility, and now plans to sign a new two-year deal with a player option in his second year.

Harden came over to Philadelphia at the trade deadline last season in a blockbuster deal with the Nets for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond plus draft picks.

The 32-year-old former MVP averaged 21 points, 10.5 assists, and 7.1 rebounds in 21 games for the 76ers.
