According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving is opting into his $37 million player option for the 2022-23 season. Irving is bypassing multiple opt-in and trade scenarios to fulfill his four-year commitment to the Nets and Kevin Durant.

“Normal people keep the world going, but those who dare to be different lead us into tomorrow. I’ve made my decision to opt in. See you in the fall. A11even,” Kyrie said.

This past season, Irving averaged 27.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.4 rebounds in 29 starts but missed a significant number of home games due to his unvaccinated status.
